WWF Russia presents Earth Hour Event to Novodvinsk junior ecologists

Immediately before Earth Hour 2019, the largest ecological event, Anna Porokhova who is a press agent of Arkhangelsk division of WFF Russia Barents department has made a presentation to participants of environmentally friendly social and educational project – Eсolyata – in Novodvinsk.

“Every year during the Earth Hour Event we draw attention to the limited resources of our planet, we encourage people to take care about what our nature gives to us, as well as we tell what each of us can do today in order not to lose these vital resources,” told Anna Porokhova.

According to the WWF Russia representative, the schoolchildren expressed a strong interest to Earth Hour Event, some told they had already heard about this event and even participated. The children showed good knowledge in the environmental quiz devoted to the nature of the Arkhangelsk region and proved that they deserved their Eсolyata title. The winner of the environmental quiz became the team of 4B form of school no. 7 - "Eco Life"

Earth Hour is an international symbolic event, when WWF calls to switch off the lights and household appliances for one hour as a sign of unindifference to the planet future.

In 2018, 188 countries and more than 2 billion people took part in Earth Hour Event.

Illumination was switched off by about 18,000 buildings and structures around the world.

In Russia, the event has taken place since 2009.

This year Arkhbum Tissue Group LLC (a part of Pulp Mill Holding) became a general partner of WWF Earth Hour 2019 event.

Arkhbum Tissue Group is the largest investment project of Pulp Mill Holding in Russia. The investments amount to 8,5 bln. RUB.

Produced sanitary tissue products under its own brand Soffione consist for 100% from high quality certified pulp produced by Arkhangelsk PPM.

 The products produced from the natural raw have a very high quality. Such products are completely safe for use because there are no chlorine compounds and heavy metals in composition that are usually present in paper production from recyclable materials.

The newest equipment of leading world manufacturers from Italy and Austria is installed and is being installed at Arkhbum Tissue Group plant. Use of this high-tech equipment, innovative technologies and modern infrastructure ensures the efficiency and economy of energy resources consumed by the enterprise.

Since the start of the plant, the Integrated Management System has been actively implemented on the basis of the international ISO standards requirements, including ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.

The production technology of the Arkhbum Tissue Group includes a guaranteed return of unused paper fiber to the production process and the reuse of treated water.
