Arkhangelsk PPM became again a general partner of Earth Hour 2021

03 mar 2021

The annual ecological event of Earth Hour is arranged by the World Wild Fund for Nature (WWF). This year it will be held for the 13th time.

The event has symbolic value and is aimed to draw attention to the need for a responsible attitude to the nature and resources of the planet. This year, the topic of the Earth Hour 2021 is the openness of environmental information. The slogan is #open.

Being a company with informational openness, Arkhangelsk PPM could not fail to support the largest event in the world again. The company has been purposefully informing all interested parties about its environmental policy for more than 20 years, the main target of which is to consistently reduce the negative impact of production on the environment and participate in the prevention of climate change.

In addition to official reporting, Arkhangelsk PPM is one of the few enterprises in the Russian forest industry sector, which annually publishes the results of environmental activities in the media and social networks, consistently engages in environmental education and has been supporting the Ecolyata project for many years.

The mill regularly informs the general public about the implementation of its climate doctrine. The company's efforts in this direction have been confirmed at the global level - APPM is a national leader in the international climate rating CDP (The Carbon Disclosure Project - an international project for disclosing data on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. According to the rating results, the mill has been assigned a high rating “A – “ for a second year running.)

In 2021, the campaign will culminate with Earth Hour on March 27 from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm local time. At this hour, tens of thousands of world-famous buildings and attractions, including those in Russian cities, will switch off their lights all over the world.

This year's event is supported by celebrities and partners of WWF Russia: Vyacheslav Fetisov, Elena Sharoykina, Alexey Kortnev, Dmitry Kozhoma, Anton Komolov, Irena Ponaroshku, Stanislav Kruglitsky, Anny Magic, Irina Chesnokova, Zoya Yarovitsyna, Yulia Kanakina, Leo Balanev.

The event is carried out with the support of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation and the Moscow Government.
