The Arkhangelsk Pulp and paper Mill is planning to hold a reseach-to-practice conference “Environmental aspects of modern technologies in timber and chemical complex” at the end of May in Arkhangelsk.

Representatives of science, authorities and domestic enterprises of pulp and paper industry will take part in the conference. They are to exchange experience and discuss the topical issues of ensuring the environmental safety of the technological processes in manufacturing pulp and paper products.

On May 30 and June 1 within the walls of the Northern Arctic Federal University and the Federal research centre for the integrated study of the Arctic of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences the conference participants will have an opportunity to discuss topical issues in four areas suggested by the organizers:

  • Modern environmentally safe technologies in pulp and paper industry

  • Topical issues of wastepaper recycling.

  • Legal issues of environmental activities of pulp and paper enterprises.

  • Climatic agenda in pulp and paper industry. Reforestation.

– The Research-to-practice conference with an environmental industry priority is held at the initiative of The Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill for the first time. The issues that we have brought up for discussion this year, in our opinion, are relevant and a priority from the entire multifaceted environmental agenda. We hope the conference to become an annual platform for an open and professional discussion of the environmental aspects of pulp and paper industry, - Dmitry Zyliov, Director General of Arkhangelsk Pulp and paper Mill, JSC, is sure. – The results of the conference will contribute to the development of new environmental initiatives which in practice are implemented primarily for the benefit of region inhabitants.

The conference is included in the program of anniversary events devoted to the 85th anniversary of the Arkhangelsk region formation. Among the organizers of the event there is Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill, JSC; RAO “BUMPROM”, NArFU, FITSKIA RAS and the Government of the Arkhangelsk region.
